Dr. Lateefa Alkharafi

Dr. Lateefa Alkharafi is a Consultant Craniofacial Orthodontist who is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and holds International Certificant status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Her advanced training includes a Craniofacial & Special Care Orthodontics Fellowship at UCSF, a Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of the Pacific, and memberships with The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), alongside her dental degree from Kuwait University. Dr. Alkharafi's clinical practice offers clear aligner therapy and metal braces for both children and adults, interceptive (Phase I) orthodontics for growing patients, and complex surgical and craniofacial orthodontics for individuals with craniofacial differences. She is also focused on dental sleep medicine and sleep apnea management, including palatal expansion for children and adults, functional growth modification appliances, and mandibular advancement devices. To deliver truly integrated care, Dr. Alkharafi works closely with pediatric ENT specialists and sleep physicians, ensuring that every patient receives a collaborative treatment plan addressing not only dental and facial aesthetics but also respiratory function, sleep quality, and overall systemic health. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Alkharafi is experienced in teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional training programs in Kuwait and internationally.
